The Picture House with Come Together Collective is a moving image exhibition and screening event featuring an eclectic range of work from local artists. In the third DIY art and music event from the South Manchester-based collective, we invited you all once more into our home for an interactive experience and community gathering.
Our house in Chorlton was transformed into an art exhibition space and pop up cinema. In the moving image exhibition, work focused on the different manifestations of moving image with a chance to create your own moving image pieces. The screening featured work from several local artists and short film makers and was topped off with a live music set to finish.
As with all Come Together events this was a chance to share the curated space with friends and neighbours and to experience and enjoy local art and culture together.
The Come Together Collective's main objective is - as the name suggests - to bring people together. The idea is for anyone to come along and experience something with other people: whether that’s local artwork, film, music or just getting to know the neighbours. Often - especially during the winter months - there can be a void in social interactions and opportunities to meet up. It’s important to feel like part of a wider community and develop connections within it. If nothing else Come Together aims to be a platform for creating these connections.
